Everyone is naked, NPC's are listed as unkown

Tears

For the past week now I have been getting randomly disconnected and suffering from severe lag at times. Although my fps is arounf 60 and having low latency the game world seems to stop for me and then get disconnected after about 3minutes of running around or standing around.

I first know I am going to DC when my pet stops following me. This is very frustrating.

Since Sunday the situation has been really bad whereby, when I log in, all players are naked and the npcs are listed as 'unknown'. I cannot interact with any of them but I can see everyone run around and go about there usual business.

If I constantly spam the npc sometimes I am able to interact and sometimes their name changes from unknown to whatever name they have in game.

I am also unable to log out from the game gracefully. I press the log out or exit game button and nothing happens at all. I have left this for 5mins before and unable to log out.

I have tried playing without any addons whatsoever. I have run the 'wow reparier'. I have completely uninstalled wow and reinstalled it, downloading each patch. I have tested my internet connection online and no problems reported whatsoever.

I have no problems with any other internet based application or website.

This has lead to me cancelling my wow account. This is not a whine that Blizzard will lose a customer but I am not prepared to pay for something that I am unable to use. I do really enjoy playing wow and I wouldn't have anything to replace it with so I am hoping for a fix.

Please respond to this as I have tried everything I can think of to get this working again and I have been unable to play (at all) since Sunday when I cancelled my account.

Feel free to ask me any questions as I really would like this resolved.

Hello,

This issue can usually be resolved by changing some options in your Network Adapter's configuration. Firstly, open the Control Panel and double click on Network Connections. Here you should find a list of your different Network Connections. Right click on the one that you are using to connect to the internet and select properties. Then near the top click on the Configure button and then the Advanced tab.

Here you should find some options. The ones you should change, if available are:
Checksum Offload - Set to Disable
Segmentation Offload - Set to Disable
Optimise For - Set to Throughput

Then OK this page and it should take you offline for a moment while it configures your connection. Then try the game.

You can find more details on setting up your Network Adapter on this FAQ article:

You should also try to find updated drivers for your Network Adapter. You can find a list of common hardware vendor's websites here:

If this does not help resolve your issue, then please post here with details of your Network Adapter and also your Connection Type
