As part of our continued efforts to balance the World of Warcraft player population across all realms, we will be converting one of our lower-population European PvP realms -- Magtheridon -- to a Normal PvE realm. For players on Magtheridon, we will be offering free Character Moves to alternate PvP realms both before and after the conversion takes place. This will allow us to continue to support healthy communities on the realms and help new players transition easily into the community.

The conversion will take place on October 27th, with the Character Moves opening on October 20th and lasting until November 16th. Upon being converted to Normal PvE, Magtheridon will be given the “New Players” flag to ensure an influx of players over the coming weeks.

The following realms are the destination realms for the Magtheridon Free Character Moves:

Though Mazrigos had a low population in general, Alliance was exceptionally low. This was a PVP realm in which the Horde had basically won; there was little to no world PVP since there was hardly any Alliance about for the Horde to fight with. The only thing that distinguished the realm as a PVP realm -- the world PVP -- was not really there, it was basically a PVE realm. So even though changing Mazrigos to PVE meant essentially no change for the existing population, those who did want to remain on a PVP realm left to one of the three destination PVP realms.

Those who were not so concerned about world PVP and are more interested in Arenas, Battlegrounds, Dungeons or Raids for instance, stayed as the population of Mazrigos went up on both factions, most especially for Alliance. That realm is now relatively balanced faction-wise, which was not in any way the case before the conversion. All being well, this will hopefully be the case for Magtheridon too.

Actually no, using free Character Moves is not currently intended to block access to realm first achievements. If you do achieve a realm first after using a free move, but do not get the achievement, please contact our in-game Support.

Just to keep everyone updated, we are unable to open the free character moves to the 3 destination realms today. We will instead be aiming to open them tomorrow.

I know this has been answered but, just to clarify; There is no limit to the amount of gold you can transfer when using the Free Character Migration service.

The Alliance population of Dentarg has actually gone up substantially in the last few weeks, most likely because Dentarg was recommended for new players. The increase of Horde, however, has only been slight in comparison -- even taking into account any moves from Magtheridon.
