Enh Shaman in a DPS group? No way dude!

So to begin with im playing a Draenei Shaman (only because my RL friends are playing Ally, Horde ftw). I get into a guild and managed to get highest level of all shamans so i will be raiding soon. Im aiming to 0/41/20 build cause I found it funniest :P
As far as I can tell now I will have to heal in Karhazan, but I thought I will be in a melee DPS group but im not. I get response that Shamans only task is to put Mana Tide and heal. I tried to explain that this 10% ap buff and totems really does it but those arguments wasn't enough.
So my question is: are there any ways to convince my guild to put that Enh Shammy into that group or am i lost forever?

I must admit I've always felt Shamans should heal, but after seeing a melee Shaman in action in Karazhan I've reconsidered. I don't ever want to be in a team without one again.
