DPS as a protection warrior: what weapon set

Now in a phaseof leveling, questing,grinding again wih a friend paly, i am willing to maximized my killing efficiency without changing spec. I always loved big n slow 2h wpon, especially whn i was arms, but being prot, i wonder if it's the bst combo. Having 10% icreased damage on one hand weaon from prot tree, maybe the DW suits better the prot warrior. My ret paly friends with his righteous fury will get the aggro anyway eve if i get it, healing is assured. Moreover, since i don't have MS anymore, i find myself using an abiliy i haven't used sinc my 40s, Heroic strike. Being a fix damage at the next melee strike, it seems t be advantaged by fast weapon (i can place 2 HS with fast weapon in the same time i couplac only one with slow weapon) On the other hands, whirlwind and cleave deals weapon damage, is clearly advantaged by slow weapon. Moreover, DW is plagued by a 25% miss rate an limited in rage generation. What do you, protection warriors, do for DPS? |
| by Crezax | 02/02/2007 23:09:34 I'll agree with the Dual Wield people here. I have done some protection grinding lately myself at 70, and I must say I was positively surprised. I didn't compare any numbers but it actually felt like it went faster due to much less downtime. Then again, it might just be me imagining things, but it's definitely very doable. |
