[Discussion] Level 60 servers
by Nyo | 06/02/2008 16:04:12 Hi guys I've started this thread with the aim of collecting positive and negative feedback regarding the opening of a few old level 60 servers. There are very many threads like this, but they're mostly vague and without clear direction, hence the making of this thread. Some background to my interest: i bought wow when TBC came out, and from that day (one year ago to the month) i've heard countless people telling me how good "the old times" were, telling stories about old raids and pvp, and how great they were. Whether these are just nostalgic moments or people who might be interested in old servers i do not know, but it seems that many people, both here and in servers would jump at the opportunity to level up and raid/pvp in an old server. many people didnt get the chance to experience old raids, and the old world, most people think of it as legend, something they'll never get to see. Since then i started a group, with some help from other like-minded people, and we've slowly progressed through level 60 instances, Molten core, BWL, a bit of Naxx, and its such great fun... and it also makes me quite sad that i didnt have the chance to play this game before TBC, i resisted buying the game until it was too late, and now i regret this. The point im trying to make here, is that the old stuff is still fun, and countless many people will not have experienced it. the game hasnt changed, so level 60 raids are just as well made as level 70 raids, with even more lore and thrill involved. why not give people who want it the option to experience it? When TBC came, people were forced to choose the new game, old raids were ignored and forgotten, despite them being really good, and all this was done to give a small percentage of hardcore raiders some more content to raid (which consequently was finished rather quickly). ok enough of my views, though i have many, and no doubt other people have alot to say too! ----------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------- Suggestion s: What i propose for this thread, is that people show whether they would like an old server or not, and to give reasons or other possible suggestions. i'll post some more suggestions after as an example. What would be the benifits of bringing out a level 60 server? Why would you want to play on one? etc Please post negative comments too if you have any, as its good to keep a broad range of opinions ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------------------------- Note: The opening of level 60 servers would not have a negative effect on progress of the game, as only a few would need to be operational (depending on how many people are interested). and continuation of the game would continue through following expansions, but its unfair on latecommers to not be able to take part in the best part of the game, the beginning! Its not like we are asking for a complete removal of TBC, TBC is quite fun, but many people would be very happy with the idea of a few old servers. its similar to the Diablo situation, many people still play it despite it having poor graphics compared to wow and other games, why? because its very fun, and you can play it all day long ;) There is so much to say.. and i've already created a monster wall of text, so feel free to post without reading the most part of what i've said, but please keep it CLEAN, no trolling, no silly posts such as "/signed" |
