Deleted 24pages of "Players leaving WoW...."

As it was said and many previous posters have probably noticed. One of biggest and most serious topics was "suddenly" deleted. Topic about TBC problems and people leaving because TBC is missing something and so on. Those who have read at least 1page of that topic, know what was it about.

Not many trolls were there, they usualy left that topic alone after being ignored. No rudeness, but serious topic full of facts, feelings of players who even beta-tested WoW.. of all sorts of players.

Now, here is nothing. Topic was deleted, without locking, informing, blue posts... anything.

That was simply rude from you!
Arent we your customers? If was topic against some law, then you should end it with blue post and banning of some people. But we all know that there wasnt anything like that, that you simply fell on ground and better deleting it.

I demand blue post with excuse and returning this post. You can give us at least promises as usual, but stop deleting our serious posts with ideas and stuff.

That was so hopeless act, that I cant "hope" into something better comming along with new patches and so on, because it seemed to be last thing to blow up fire. You should take many things from that topic, no no..

Blue one, and bring back that post back.. Its demand of your customer, not begging.

The thread has been around for a while - if we wanted to delete the topic (tin hat, anyone?) we could have done so a long time ago. I'm pretty sure this was unintended, possibly a result of the bug Ommra has mentioned (deleting one post kills all posts for that player, including threads they started).

We'll follow up on this and do what we can to have ther bug fixed asap as it naturally makes moderation a bit tricky for us. :-/

A small update regarding the post deletion:

I just tested this further and sent the information on, so hopefully we can have a fix soon. The problem is that when we delete one post by a player, all posts made by that account disappear as well.

For now we won't delete any posts, but only edit posts to remove inappropriate content.

That post contained people's feelings about the game and TBC... it is really SAD that you (Blues) didn't notice this bug BEFORE the great post was "accidentally" deleted. Did all the mods actually read that thread?I sure hope so. I actually did read every post on that topic and 90% of people talked about their thoughts, feelings, ideas... and now this all is just gone..

How can we notice a bug before we know it exists? Now we are aware of it and will make sure that no more threads get deleted (unless they violate the forum policy of course). And yes, we read the thread so the opinions expressed are not lost.

Seriously, take off the tinfoil hats. I understand that this is a glorious moment for anyone who feels the need to have conspiracy theories about Blizzard, but the mentioned thread got deleted by accident. I myself had replied in that thread, and was just about to post another reply. We don't delete threads unless they violate the forum policies, and there were many interesting posts in that particular thread.

We are as annoyed by this bug as you are, since it limits our moderation a lot and creates a lot of extra hassle.

As previously stated, we have investigated this and sent the information on so that it can get fixed. Until then, we will refrain from deleting posts and instead edit any inappropriate posts.
