Deleted 24pages of "Players leaving WoW...."
by Thundgot | 30/03/2007 14:03:37![]() The thread has been around for a while - if we wanted to delete the topic (tin hat, anyone?) we could have done so a long time ago. I'm pretty sure this was unintended, possibly a result of the bug Ommra has mentioned (deleting one post kills all posts for that player, including threads they started). We'll follow up on this and do what we can to have ther bug fixed asap as it naturally makes moderation a bit tricky for us. :-/ |
by Ommra | 30/03/2007 18:19:49![]() A small update regarding the post deletion: I just tested this further and sent the information on, so hopefully we can have a fix soon. The problem is that when we delete one post by a player, all posts made by that account disappear as well. For now we won't delete any posts, but only edit posts to remove inappropriate content. |

Nina Simone :) (when in the right mood)
How can we notice a bug before we know it exists? Now we are aware of it and will make sure that no more threads get deleted (unless they violate the forum policy of course). And yes, we read the thread so the opinions expressed are not lost. |
by Ommra | 30/03/2007 21:05:47![]() Seriously, take off the tinfoil hats. I understand that this is a glorious moment for anyone who feels the need to have conspiracy theories about Blizzard, but the mentioned thread got deleted by accident. I myself had replied in that thread, and was just about to post another reply. We don't delete threads unless they violate the forum policies, and there were many interesting posts in that particular thread. We are as annoyed by this bug as you are, since it limits our moderation a lot and creates a lot of extra hassle. As previously stated, we have investigated this and sent the information on so that it can get fixed. Until then, we will refrain from deleting posts and instead edit any inappropriate posts. |
