by Yalis | 27/02/2007 11:56:21![]() **Yalis Nails Posters to every available advertising space he can see** They read: Lakeshire Gala Day To celebrate the rebuilding of the bridge The Ethereal Tavern and the people of Lake shire invite you to a Gala day to be held on Sunday 11th of March Drinks at the Inn From 3pm Yalis will be serving drinks at the Lakeshire Inn. With the possibility of the famous Diva Fame Femtale providing the entertainment. (Still awaiting confirmation of this booking) Traders Market While the drinks are being served in the Inn why not browse the Traders Market on the Lake Shire Promenade The Ethereal Tavern Fist Fighting Tournament On the pier after drinks, the main event, the great fist fighting tournament sponsored by the Ethereal Tavern. There are only four positions in each weight category. To take part in the fist fight tournament you must APPLY IN WRITING to Yalis Karlstorm. ONLY WRITTEN APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED. The Redridge Derby This will be the first mounted race through the Redridge Valley. Bring your best riding gear to look your best as you traverse 2 laps of this rigorous and dangerous race track. APPLY In WRITING to Yalis Karlstorm to get your entry number. ONLY WRITTEN APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED. OOC: To promote Lakeshire as the new centre of RP for the Alliance on our realm I would like to invite ALL Role Play Guilds and individual Role Players to the Lakeshire Gala Day. This is an event to be run on a Sunday afternoon due to the size of it. I would also like to add that a good few of the Roleplay Guilds and players have banded together to form what is known as the Golden Pact. This is a consortium of RP guilds and players banding together to make RP better on the Alliance side. WE even have a small but perfectly formed forum website. Please feel free to join this individually or with your guild. http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=151167&TabID=1282736 There is a thread in the Wow forums discussing the use of Lakeshire as an RP town of sorts. http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=185548770&sid=1 Most people agree that this is a good idea. All we need is the support and The Ethereal Tavern support this completely. The week after this event I will start to run the Tavern out of the Inn in Lakeshire. With this in mind I suggest that this be the first official night of Lakeshire as an RP town. Of course this does not mean you cannot start running your story lines within your guilds before then. I will create another thread later on to allow story lines to develop. Anyway I would be very glad if you could all make it to this event to kick start Lakeshire as the RP town for the Alliance. If anyone requires an Escort through the not so nice areas to reach Lakeshire feel free to contact Paxton the Dwarf in game to arrange an escort. Ok here are the OOC bits for each stage of this event: Drinks in the Inn Kind of speaks for itself, come in have a brew and a chat, and watch the entertainers. Traders Market We need several volunteers to act as traders to sell goods at a reasonable price. The market should be set up outside on the promenade beside the local traders caravan. I would suggest writing some macros advertising your goods in /y and /s. Please state if you wish to sell your wares in this Market so we know how many traders to espect. Both of these mini events will run at the same time from 3pm server time. The Ethereal Tavern Fist Fighting Tournament For those that have been to a Fist fight tournament run by The Ethereal Tavern before you will know what to expect. I am changing the application procedure for it. If you want to be one of the fighters in an appropriate category you must apply in game in writing to Yalis. ONLY WRITTEN APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Cut off for applications is Saturday 10th of March 12 noon server time. If you don't apply in writing then you will not be entered on the day. There will be no entries on the day at the fight venue at all. The reason I will not take bookings on the day is due to the logistics of running this sort of tournament. If there are not enough fighters in your “weight category”, then your fight will not take place. The usual rules for the fights will apply: (here are the rules I usually use for my fist fights) 1) This is unarmed combat so no magic, buffs, de buffs, weapons, rings etc etc. Plain and simple you use nothing but your fists and feet. 2) No Armour. Nothing, nada, nowt. Use a simple kilt or a Colourful Kilt depending on your level. Please tell Yalis in your mail if you require a kilt and he will send you one. 3) No healing, first aid, or any potions. 4) The categories of the fight in character level determining the “weight class” should be fare and offer the fighters as equal an opportunity to win as is possible. The groups are as follows: Lvl10 - 19 Lvl20 - 29 Lvl30 - 39 Lvl40 - 49 Lvl50 – 60 Lvl61 - 70 5) No more than four fighters in each category. 6) Three fights in each category, two heats and the winner of each heat fight to determine the champion of that category. 7) Any use of buffs, magic, armour, healing, first aid potions etc will result in automatic disqualification. 8) Jumping & running around within the designated fight ring is allowed. But no running into the crowd our out of the ring. This too will disqualify you. 9) The referee decision is final. 10) Fighter one will challenge fighter 2 to a duel in the designated area. 11) Both fighters will bow prior to the fight starting, and after the countdown clock to begin the duel has finished counting down. 12) After the bow the referee will say FIGHT!. 13) The Fight can then start Again I will remind everyone that I will NOT be taking any entries on the day. You must request entry in writing to Yalis. The Redridge Derby Two laps of one of the most rigorous unofficial race courses in the whole of Azeroth. http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r316/mojax1971/Race-Track-Map.jpg This is a mounted race, of course being a mounted race we will have some difficulty policing this for people cheating so I ask for honesty and a good sense of sportsmanship. Race Rules 1)The race starts and finishes on the bridge in Lakeshire. 2)Follow the map anti clockwise. 3)It will be a two lap race. 4)MOUNTS ARE LIMITED TO 60% MOUNT ONLY. 5)If you get attacked by an NPC, well thats just part of the Derby, deal with them swiftly and get back on your mount. 6)If you are killed by NPCs then you are out of the race. 7)The Judges decision is final. 8)This is the map of the race track. ANY DEVIATION FROM THIS ROUTE WILL RESULT IN YOU BEING DISQUALIFIED FROM THE RACE. http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r316/mojax1971/Race-Track-Map.jpg 9)All racers will be entered into a raid party group with Yalis as the leader to enable him to view your whereabouts on the race track. If you leave the group during the race you will also be disqualified. 10)Any spectator wishing to join the raid group to “watch the race” from the map may do so. I already have a volunteer entered into the race that is the secret race Marshall who will be watching the racers ensuring that no sneaky changing to faster mounts takes place during the race! I am also looking for any budding young film makers to make a movie of this race as it would be an excellent feature to have to promote RP in Lakeshire. Ok then thats it a long post indeed but I feel a worthwhile one. Sorry to put you through all of that and thanks for reading. Please post any questions regarding this event please post on these forums. |
