CM's and the community

Okay, so I've just read some big locked drama thread from Moonglade with some guy who was flaming the event and CM's came in and said they should drop it and just come too and the CM would buy him a drink IC, etc but the drama isn't my point.

I was surprised to see how the CM's were involved with this event! That particular CM (Aeus) even said he'd show up himself and interact with a player. Some may not care, but imo it is always special if a blizzard employee so actively interacts with players once in a while, especially at such occasions. This still happens indeed, like the GM showing up at that Argent Dawn event in the form of a snake.

However, CM's are commonly known by a lot of players, and it was always nice when they showed interest in such events and even participated. However, sadly, that seems to have diminished a lot in the past, and the connection between community and CM (mainly in the RP community) seems to be diminishing :( And it just made me wonder, if things like in that drama thread scared them away? I hope not.

I could write a much longer rant about this, but I'll keep it short and to the point like this :p
"Why won't you just kill us?!"
"You shouldn't forget the importance of entertainment."

Well some of us are actively participating in player made events, but you would not know that we were there, because we use our private accounts to play. In my time working for Blizzard, I have personally been joining in on a lot of events both big and small :-)

It does happen that we publicly participate in events where almost everybody knows us and have fun with us, but usually that only happens on the PTRs though :-)
