Brittish Telecom - EXTREME latency
by Korlicbus | 18/06/2008 18:31:49 As of TODAY (the day the LIVE RATED PHASE OF THE ARENA TOURNAMENT REALM BEGINS) myself and many BT users I know throughout the UK have been having extreme latency issues on the tournament realm. Most of us have no issues on our 'live' realm which we play on (Sylvanas personally), only the TR. From tracerts it would appear we're being routed via New York to connect to the TR in EUROPE... There are only a limited number of days to play during the portion of the tournament and it goes without saying that 2000+ latency makes it UNPLAYABLE for the VAST MAJORITY of BT users, users who have spent £15 or so to play on this Arena Tournament but are being prevented from doing so as long as these issues persist: The Date and Time that you created the tracert file: 18 june. 17:00 - Your town and Country: Glasgow, Scotland - When did this problem start: TODAY - Realm played: Arena Tournament Realm - Internet Service Provider: BT Total Broadband - How fast is your internet connection? : 8mb - The in game latency bar reading 1800 MS + - Do you share your connection? No - Connection used, (USB, Ethernet or Wifi): Ethernet, also tried USB - problem the same on both - Your characters location on the realm (which zone you are in): Mulgore, Orgrimmar, Darnassus - same in any location - regardless of how few or many players are on screen
It should also be noted that I get 70ms constantly and 0 problems on my 'live' realm which is Sylvanas.EU, the latency issues for the Tournament Realm also occur on the character screen where it often takes me 30+seconds to 'connect' to the realm. It should also be noted that the LIVE RATED PHASE for the arena tournament began today and it goes without saying that paying £15 to compete on the tournament realm and then suddenly having 1800 ms in the rated phase, is not acceptable... |
