Around Azeroth We Travel! [AD - Horde RP]
by Tarethios | 09/07/2010 20:42:10![]() http://www.argentarchives.org/node/52199 Have you ever wanted to experience the mountain trails of Alterac? What about the serene jungle of Feralas? Or possibly the coast of the Frozen Sea while fishing with the native tuskarr? Do you want to sleep under the starry skies on a bed of soft grass? Then wait no more for the Sunwarders are offering you an opportunity to travel with us! Realm: Argent Dawn (EU) Date: 19 July 2010 - 23 July 2010 Time: Around 19.00. Location: Meeting at the border between Silverpine Forest and Hillsbrad Foothills. The event itself will be around Azeroth! Faction: Horde Event details: Greetings, fellow travelers and adventurers! The Sunwarders are offering you a chance to join our memorable camping trip around Azeroth. A world filled with wonders and secrets will now open for you, my friend. So much to see, hear, touch, smell or even taste (the Sunwarders are not responsible for any deaths that occur during the trip if they were caused by yourself when eating or licking deadly poisonous plants or animals). Remember to pack properly for the trip. The Sunwarders will provide you food and water, but we suggest you take something yourself as well. During the trip we have several places we call resting points. These will be used for sleeping, storytelling and anything else that we cannot do in the middle of the travelling. There are four of them in the Eastern Kingdoms, two in Kalimdor and four in Northrend so that makes ten of them in all of Azeroth. We will visit about two of them per day. Every resting point does not have a tent or a house to sleep in, so prepare for rainy nights! During the trip, we might have a few competitions and lessons about Azeroth. For those who seek exciting adventures, we will arrange chances to search for treasures inside sunken ships or explore caves and dungeons. Here is a rough map made by our gifted mapmakers: http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/7057/eventmaproute.jpg The black line is the main route (which can be changed even during the trip if necessary). Blue lines are optional routes that you can use if you do not wish to go along the main route. Orange lines indicate the trips you can make during our stay at the resting point / at night. The red dots are the resting places, the green dot is the starting spot and the blue dot is the end of the trip. Along with the travelers, we will also need guards to protect the group. Postcards From Everywhere! The hosts of the trip will also have a bigger competition for you! As we travel through our beloved little planet, be sure to snap a photo or two. Pick the best one and create a postcard of your own! The judges will choose the best one and the winner will be rewarded with great treasures which we have gathered during our adventure. (Important information about this in the OOC details section!) ------------------------------------------------------------ OOC details: This is a roleplaying event, thus any out-of-character actions in /say, /emote or /yell are strictly forbidden. Try not to use brackets ( (( )) ) either. If you have something to say out-of-character, please say it in our own chat (AAWT) or the raid chat. Raid chat can be used for talking too, but when something happens (lessons, contests or anything else that requires the possible use of raid warnings) we would appreciate it if the raid chat would be kept clear. As said before, we have a channel of our own named AAWT (Around Azeroth We Travel) which can be accessed by writing /join AAWT in your chat box. Here is a list of other things that you should read before attending:
*We will travel throughout the day. We only have five days time to complete this trip and that is why we can't travel only in the evenings or only in the mornings etc. Nights will most likely be spent at the resting points, unless we have something special such as night tours (which are all for volunteers, of course. We are not forcing you to leave the resting points at night). *If you have to go offline/AFK/raiding during the travelling, then do so. You can catch up on us when you come back. *We want this to be a happy event for everyone. Forget your fights or at least handle them with whispers and not in the raid / AAWT chat. No insulting or unnecessary fighting out-of-character. *Roleplay! Don't turn this event into a raid chat forum. *If I, Tarethios, am not online then someone else will lead the group. Other Sunwarders have priority, but if there are none, one of the travellers can be chosen to lead. However, this person will be voted for. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Now, as for the guards. If you wish to be a guard, inform me (Tarethios) either with/by in-game mail, in-game whispers, sending me a message on the Argent Archives or posting it on the Argent Dawn's official forums. Characters of any level are welcome. Those of lower levels might want to watch out for the hostile creatures during the trip, but we have the guards to handle those. --------------------------------------------------------------- If you are participating in the Postcards From Everywhere, be sure to read this! You are allowed to add text to your postcard (which is also highly recommended). The text must contain at least one word from the name of the zone (i.e. if your postcard would be from Howling Fjord, then the text must contain at least 'Howling' or 'Fjord'. Words like 'howl' or 'howler' would be counted as well.). This can be done with the simplest of tools such as your ordinary Paint. However, you are not allowed to edit your screenshot in any other shape or form! Postcards that have been edited even slightly will be fed to an army of hungry leper gnomes! The postcards seen on the event's Argent Archives page should not be used as examples. They have all been edited more or less and such postcards would be disqualified. Just take the screenshot, add a nice piece of text to it and that's that. Nothing else. [ Post edited by Tarethios ] Providing vital nerdrages since 1890.
