The moment you have all been waiting for! Have you ventured forth into a forbidding cave, slain countless trolls and all you have to show for it is a pet rock? Have you braved the depths of the seas, looking for treasure, but the murky deep merely yielded a fossilized trout? Or maybe you have found something curious, yet have no clue just what it is you have in your possession? Fear not, for we have just the thing for you! At the Odds & Ends Exchange, you will have the chance to meet like-minded individuals, collectors and historians, some of whom will be interested in the most obscure of things! You will be able to present your finds to a panel of experts! You will be able to auction off those of your finds you do not want or swap them for something more desirable! There will be beer! So what are you waiting for? Most cordially, Regar Wulfhardt (Vice-Chairman of the Old Ironforge Pipe Smokers’ Club)” * * * * * * * * * * Once in a while, a few members of the Ironforge Explorers' League and the esteemed gentlemen of the Old Ironforge Pipe Smokers' Club set up their stalls outside the towering gates of Ironforge, prop up a few kegs of beer and send invitations out to like-minded individuals for a cordial gathering with just one purpose: to offer a platform for the archaeologically (or monetarily) minded to exchange their finds. For which explorer wouldn't know this predicament: you brave the dangers of Uldaman to find the ancient Stone Hammer of Imbecillius but all that you can actually come up with is a strange, squiggly piece of obsidian that makes a whooshing noise when held under water. Fear not! At the Odds And Ends Exchange, you will find the whooshing obsidian connaisseur you've been waiting for and might be able to swap your find for a handful of coins - or maybe swap it for that obscure, hard-to-find trogg statuette with all the naughty bits intact! * * * * * * * * * * The Odds and Ends Exchange Monday, August 25th 18:00 Game Time Gates of Ironforge (outside) OOCly speaking, The Odds And Ends Exchange is an event to promote your own creativity by presenting us with in-game items shown in a different light. Ideally, event participants will gather one or two pieces of their choice - vendor trash, obscure crafting oddities, etc. (just make sure it isn't soulbound) -, create a little story surrounding the thing in question, where they found it, what they believe it is, etc. and present their fellow enthusiasts with it. At the Exchange, you can then swap it for an item that another player has "created" if their story impresses you, present it to a panel of experts from the Explorers' League for their opinion or climb the anvil that servers as a makeshift pedestal to shout out your items qualities in the hopes of auctioning it off to the highest bidder. Or the one person crazy enough to bid the minimum! To participate, bring an item - any item! -, your story, your creativity and a willingness to listen to the presentations of your fellow RPers! As this event is located in a mob-free area of Dun Morogh it should be easily accessible for any and all character regardless of levels. So pop along, why don't you! We are also still looking for willing experts to sit on our panel and give their take on the items presented. Vendors, merchants and profiteering scallywags are also most welcome to populate the gathering. If you're interested to function as an expert on the panel, please give a holler in this thread or hit me up in game.
