This better be the right forum for community events. Anyway. Blatant copying of what I wrote earlier. Q u o t e: Introduction: Some on you know The Pale Riders. Chances are you dont. For those, here's a short introduction. TPR is one of the few scourge guilds, that people seem to find decent and capable RPers. We're a small guild at the moment, and suffered from my (the guildleader) lack of time to work on TPR. BUt with exams over I intend to but more work in TPR. And hope to create lots of RP for everyone (even if that means we'll get oblirated of this place)
why we're doing this? To create interesting RP. Like some many others I have great memories about the zombie invasion event pre-wotlk. This is also to give all you good guys something to fight against. A chance to make choises and sacrifices. And fight for those you love. So we're doing this for you, not just ourselves.
This aside. Since severall months we've been ICly gathering materials from severall raids. Note that we had others unknowlingly do this for us.
With these new materials a new plague will be made. The brewing of this plague will last a week. The plague is finished the first of July and first spreadings will begin then
The plague itself
This plague has severall stadia
Stadia 1: Dormant stage
Duration: 3 days estimate information: Stadia one is simply the dormant stadia after the infection. This happens by coming touch with a plague sample. Or touching any bodilly fluid like sweat, blood and tears from another infected.
During this dormant stage. The infected will be unhindered and unaware of the plague. The plague will spread throughout the infected's internal organs.
Extreme tiredness, feeling weak. There are no visible signs of infection during this stadia. After about three days. The disease will enter stadia 2
Stadia 2: Crippling and fever
Duration: 2 days if untreated. 4 to 6 if well treated. Information: The plague has by now evolved to adapt to the infected's body. Internal temperatures will rise and infected will suffer high fever. The infected's strength will lower as his internal organs are being destroyed by the plague.
Infected will lose fat reserves, sweat profuselly, and bleed from multiple orifices like mouth, nose and ears. A heavy cough might develop as the infected's immune system slowly is affected.
Stadia 3: Rotting and turning
Duration: 2 days 4 to 6 if well treated Information: The plague is now causing hallucinations and insanity. infected might become feral, unreasonable and lash out at surroundings.
The infected flesh will show signs of decay and rot. Muscles will detoriate and plague boils can form on the infected's skin. internal temperature drops sharply, lifesigns will begin to fade as the infected slowly fades away.
Early ghoulification will happen as the infected slowly rots and starts dying. The infected internal organs will cease to work. During the last hours of this stadia the victim trully dies as his mind and heart go.
Severall hours after infected's death. Stadia 4 will begin.
Stadia 4: reanimation.
Duration: na Information: once infected reaches this stadia. He is beyond saving. Once entering Stadia 4, the infected will be reanimated as a ghoul, or in rare cases a plague spreader. These undead also spread the infection on touch. Burning is required to prevent died infected to reach stadia 4.
Plague details
This plague seems overpowered to you? It kinda is. But this is all in case an infected goes untreated. When regulary treated with magic, light, druid powers or whatever. Each stadia can be made to last 2 to 3 times as long. Possible even 4 times as long. This depends on an individuals' strength.
The plague is able to spread during all these stadia. A healer will have to make the decision. Aid the poor person, and get infected in the process as healing requires touch. And by stadia 2 the infected will have begun sweating a lot because of the fever.
The plague is magic, thus affects paladins. It is also strong enough to resist being cleansed. A cure and vaccine must be developed.
Undead and death knights are unaffected by the plague. Their bodies do not provide the conditions needed for the plague to survive in their bodies.
Event details:
THIS EVENT WILL BE MAINLY HORDESIDE. I cannot help set up things alliance side, I simply dont have the time for that. You are however free to take initiative and do it yourselves.
The event will start the 1st of july. First infections will happen then. i'd be eternally greatfull if you'd help spread news about this event.
TPR will try and infect some of Oggrimar's water supply. You can make alts that get infected during these first days and have them suffer from 'failed' versions of the plague that can be cured.
This is to give a pretaste of the event.
I will contact the royal apothecary society myself (the ingame guild) to ask if they'd be willing to ICly work on the plague's cure. I'm hoping they'll have a string of events about the cure's development. i'll talk to them about that.
This event is meant to last 2 weeks. I know you're all concerned. So I will try to have RAS finish the cure in time so that most people can be saved. This way, only nameless alt should be sacrificed to this plague. So yes, I care about your character as well. My goal is not to wipe everyone out. But to create an original setting for you characters to Rp in
How can you help?
You can help simply by helping promote this event. Warn people, and create nameless alts to die horrible horrible deaths. Take the initiative! Set up an organisation to try and quarantine the infected! Or organize a group to find this dreadfull plague's origin.
So in short, use your imagination and take initiative. You dont have to do anything for this event. But we'll be gratefull for the help.
For more information, just ask. I'll do my best to keep a watch on this thread. And to the flamers. I'm trying to create RP. Maybe you should do the same.
