Arena: Wintrade/pts selling/boosting...

Why should we bother playing arena honestly?

On my realm there was this player spamming the trade channel the other day
WTB: 2000+ rated arena team!!

This team may or may not have been wintraded to get to that rating, but...

So, now this player has gotten his team.
And is now selling arena pts for ingame gold.

I ticked this, and the reply was that this is not against the policy.

I have screenshots of GM conversation and the arena team in question.
This is just plain stupid.

So what should we do?
All buying team/personal rating, arena pts for "free" epix?
WTH!

Hi Ducati.

The method of boosting a team by asking great players to help within your team is fine. The same applies to purchasing an Arena team for in-game currency. A high Team rating is all well and good, but one requires a Personal rating for the best items, of course.

This is a clever use of the system, and is not exploitable unless of course players are found to be win trading, this of course, is a different matter.

'Arranging' matches against a set team in order to exploit not only the match making process, but to strategically fix matches in order to obtain rating is Exploitative and in such in violation of the Exploitation Policies, and can lead to sanctions for Accounts and Teams found to be doing this.

I've outlined the policy that would cover this below.

http://wow-europe.com/en/policy/exploitation.html

Q u o t e:
Abuse of Game Mechanics

The distinction between exploiting bugs and abusing game mechanics is a fine one. While bug exploitation involves the abuse of what is essentially a programming mistake, the abuse of game mechanics is the act of taking advantage of the limitations of the World of Warcraft game systems. Since the line between the sanctioned use and the abuse of game mechanics is sometimes unclear, we prefer to educate players before taking any action against the account being used.

This category includes using/distributing game mechanics in a manner unintended by their design that:

* Damages another character, their gameplay, the service itself and/or its economy

If a player is found to have abused/distributed such game mechanics, he/she may:

* Be given a verbal warning
* Be temporary or permanently suspended from the game in very specific cases
I hope this clarifies things for you.
