I don't know how others think of this, but the upcoming expansion, cataclysm, appears to be a full roleplaying expansion!

- Flying in Azeroth: This ought to have little to no effect on PvP'ers and PvE'ers. Why would they need to fly about, apart from perhaps the chance to get to the instance faster/reach high mountains to PvP on?

- A whole progression for Azeroth! Everything will be new(er), areas revamped, for the sake of completely new events and roleplay! Note also the "new life emerges" thing in the video, I think I saw Desolace becoming alot more fun to roleplay in!

- Two new races: Only roleplayers really benefit from this: PvP'ers and PvE'ers could perhaps change for race passives, but apart from that ...? No real use to them either!

- They're adding a few battlegrounds, and a many instances and raids, but in the end, this is but a very small part of the entire cake! And roleplayers enjoy them just as much!

- Race combinations: While some roleplayers seem to think this makes no sense on some levels, I find them -amazing- for roleplay! Now atleast you shall have the ability to roleplay according to class, instead of roleplaying according to your flagrsp. Elf mages? Tauren Paladin? Makes sense! Who says elf mages can't be treated like warlock humans within their own community?

Whatever the rest! I think all of this is enough to say this is in essence a roleplaying expansion!

So ... euhm ... thank you Blizzard!

Thundgot

You're welcome. And thank you for the nice feedback. :)

We're looking forward to sharing more and more about the expansion and surrounding lore with you as it comes closer, so that all the pieces - like the one quoted in the post above mine - fall into place for (hopefully) everyone. ;)
