Please note: FCMs are opened based on realm population tracking and analysis and not by request. If you're looking for a specific Character Move (from realm A to realm B), you are in most cases better off using Paid Character Transfer, or you could end up waiting for a very long time.

No. Firstly, as stated, FCMs are not set up by request. Secondly, FCMs are set up with particular intentions in regards to population and faction balance. Thirdly, there is no such service as "free faction change" though, if there was, it certainly might come in handy. Finally, we have no plans to open up some kind of massive free for all -- this would be like trying to land a helicopter in a wine glass factory.

I played on it for about 6 months and I barely had a single day in that whole period where I didn't have 2-5 seconds lag in Dalaran and usually other main cities. So I moved to Sunstrider, and everything got better. Well, now you've moved people there from other servers, and now this server has the very same issues. 2-5 seconds of lag for every single action.

Don't you realize, Blizzard, that your servers just can't handle the load you put on them?

I need to clarify that FCMs are typically only ever set up for population or faction balance reasons -- the FCMs currently from Vek'nilash (set up for a very specific reason) are the only exceptions I can think of.

We want to help reduce the Alliance dominance on the PVE realm Silvermoon, as it is very much not like where we want it to be. At the same time we have some other PVE realms that could need a decent measure of quality Alliance loving. This means Silvermoon will very likely be a source realm for Alliance only FCMs in the very near future.

Now I have another char from Al'Akir that I tried to transfer to Haomarush, put some gold and items on it seemed okay, but I got a error. Went back to retrying and now the only realm that comes up is Trollbane.

Can you fix this please?

Unfortunately the Tuesday deadline passed and FCMs to Haomarush are currently no longer available. Missing a deadline or being unable to transfer in time is an unfortunate possible downside to this free process. :-(

But it is possible Haomarush may be considered again as a destination realm in upcoming weeks. It did receive a nice influx of new people from previous FCMs, though, and still continues to be recommended for new PVP players -- which often includes a lot of veteran players who want a new start.

So for now we want to take a pause with FCMs to there, to give time to review the situation and monitor the healthy growth of this realm.

OK, this seems to happen sometimes and it is still under investigation.

Don't cancel them, just wait to see if they complete (most people who have reported this error say that the move does go through eventually). Hopefully won't take too long.

Having statistics and numbers doesn't tell you everything. I don't see how you can possibly judge the situation on various servers without actually being part and understanding the server.

That's interesting Fred. If we opened up Alliance only FCM to all the Horde dominated PVP realms, we would have about 45+ destination realms -- and over half of those realms would still need Alliance characters more desperately than Dragonmaw currently does. You cannot take a small group of Alliance characters and expect that spreading them over so many realms will make any one realm significantly better balanced, so that's why you'd never see us doing FCMs like that.

Your persistence is commendable, but I am glad you are giving up, because repeating the same answers without any obvious effect isn't fun for me either. :-) You need to try and rest assured that we are doing our best to bring greater balance to all realms, but if we averaged our PVP population across all PVP realms, they would all be Horde dominated and this is just the way it is currently until either the game or player perceptions change. This doesn't mean that we don't work at it, but it gives you an idea of what is realistic.

Wryxian, i realise this is slightly offtopic (it's not even really classed as offtopic i guess), but any news on when the PCT service will be fixed? Currently, the queue is rising and people who were in it when it still said one hour yesterday are still stuck on pending. This leads me to believe the service itself is broken.

Being we're doing a full guild transfer to a new realm (around 100 people if you include alts and such), it's a little frustrating to see we're probably gonna be waiting for another few days or until it's fixed. The character i'm posting on got in the queue at 5 hours and is still pending, and i don't know anyone i the guild who's made it across yet.

So, any news?

Burning Steppes is in the same situation. For now we have the luck to be able to raid, and we were able to persuade some people to come here. But some after spending some time in an 'empty' trade channel they give up and go away.

I've also asked in the past for statistical data about realms, but I got no answers.
For months I've been asking FCM to Burning Steppes until it has a good balance.
For months I've been posting on this realm, asking for solutions.

The answers I got are: "Thanks for sharing your opinion." or just a plain ignore.


Imagine a movie where there is this guy who had a terrible accident or got bullet in his chest.

Wryxian reminds me that guy next to the other guy dying who says:
"Don't worry, everything is going to be fine."

We are the guy who's about to close his eyes, for ever...

The difference is, though, that Burning Steppes is way more Horde dominated than Dragonmaw. To make that more visual, for every 3 Alliance characters on Dragonmaw there's just 1 Alliance on Burning Steppes.

So it is almost at the very top of our list of realms (along with Magtheridon and Mazrigos and a few others like Emeriss) that we'd really like to sort out as soon as we are able to. You may feel you are ignored Paladinpyn, but that's not the case. We just can't give you news that isn't there to give yet.

We have more things in mind for Emeriss but they aren't anywhere near close enough in time to be able to say much about them. In the meantime, FCM is our only option to try and help. We hope it has some positive effect for Emeriss until we are able to do something more for this realm.

Well that's definitely an unfortunate circumstance. We only decided on Executus on Tuesday this week, so it was never going to be possible to warn you in advance (and we never announce FCMs till they are live on the Wednesday). So, though I most certainly can understand you're annoyed by this coincidence, there's unfortunately not much I can do to help make you feel better about it. :-/

Is there like any possibility that there will be more realms to free migrate to from Magtheridon etc ? Trollbane dosnt seem to much as a good server as haomarush and sunstrider did.

Yeah it is possible there will be other destination realms in future FCMs, and it is possible realms that have recently been destination realms may be again, if they are still suitable.

Yes. It is reported internally but as yet there's no resolution. The only thing you can do is ignore it. :-(

Asharii, the FCMs won't be cut off sharp at midnight tonight. Please keep trying, as we rarely cut them off till well after lunch on Wednesday usually. As for the errors, it could well be that they are being caused by some heavy last minute frantic free character moving going on, because of the impending deadline. I'm sure it is frustrating for you and your guildmates and I'm sorry for that if that's the case. :-(

I can't confirm it right now, but it could well be that FCMs to Genjuros may continue another week anyhow. We'll see if we can confirm that for you as soon as possible.

For now, Haomarush remains recommended for New Players and also it is still a destination realm option for Vek'nilash for one more week. Because of this, we don't currently have plans to setup other FCMs to the realm -- we want to review and appraise the situation before considering things like further FCMs.
