18/08 Hardware upgrades (update 29/09)
by Thundgot | 24/08/2006 20:51:43 In preparation for the launch of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade we will be retrofitting existing realms with new hardware over the next month or so. As soon as the realm hardware upgrades are installed you will notice improvements on realms experiencing performance issues due to instance load. Further improvements will be felt when we activate the backend hardware upgrades, most likely a few weeks later. Maintenance periods may be extended for those realms receiving upgrades. Update 28/08 The schedule has changed a bit and we’ll be dividing the upgrade work on two maintenance periods this week. Please see below for the updated schedule and maintenance hours. Update 31/08 Upgrades on the second group have been completed. Group 3 is scheduled for September 6th. Please note the additional downtime Thursday September 7th for the involved realms. Update 05/09 This week’s hardware upgrade has been postponed. We will update with a new date and time as soon as possible. Update 12/09 The hardware upgrades will continue with group 3 during tomorrow’s maintenance. Update 27/09 The hardware upgrades will continue with group 4 during today's maintenance. Update 29/09 All parts of this step in the hardware upgrade have been completed. We'll keep you informed about the timing of the backend hardware upgrades.
