Please note: FCMs are opened based on realm population tracking and analysis and not by request. If you're looking for a specific Character Move (from realm A to realm B), you are in most cases better off using Paid Character Transfer, or you could end up waiting for a very long time.

It was a very close call as to whether Ragnaros had faction-specific FCMs or not, as the faction balance on the realm is close to the top of the the top 10 of all our PvP realms in terms of faction balance. The realm has FCMs this week due to overall population, however -- most specifically because of the queues during prime time. Generally we are not keen to offer FCM away from a realm for a faction that is not dominant, and that is why the FCM was Alliance only in the end. This may change next week, however.

We have not given up on Mazrigos, I assure you. I know it might seem like it is being ignored, but we definitely have a spotlight pointing at Mazrigos and also to any of the handful of similar realms that are both severely faction unbalanced and low in population. We realise words might seem assuring but action might seem lacking; but action will be seen and will back up what we are saying.

Using free Character Moves is not currently intended to block access to realm first achievements. If you do achieve a realm first after using a free move, but do not get the achievement, please contact our in-game Support team.

I just thought I'd give you some feedback regarding the Horde only FCM to Dragonmaw a couple of weeks back. A fairly large sized Horde guild migrated to Dragonmaw :

We've also seen two more Alliance guilds migrate away from Dragonmaw. One of these guilds stated that the Horde only FCM to Dragonmaw was part of the reason :

We've also seen a continued amount of faction changing from alliance to horde as more alliance guilds disband or are unable to form raids. The only gladiators left on Alliance Dragonmaw have now faction changed to Horde, and the imbalance has only increased to an incredible level.

Are there any plans to help the Alliance side of our realm out after increasing the already dominant Horde population?

The faction ratio for Dragonmaw was not affected in a major way by the FCMs to the realm. There is always a chance that any PvP realm might become the destination realm for FCMs from overpopulated realms, if the realm has a low enough population to allow for it. Typically we are more concerned by increasing the Alliance players on realms much more faction imbalanced than Dragonmaw, but this does not exclude the possibility that Dragonmaw or indeed any PvP realm might receive Alliance only FCMs in the future (though it needs to be kept in mind that most English PvP realms are Horde dominant and wanting more Alliance players, and many of them more so than Dragonmaw does).

OK, don't cancel it. For some reasons it sometimes shows a status of "Error" but it will still complete successfully if you leave it to.

No we will not. We are trying to improve the faction ratio of the realm, not make it worse.

No it hasn't been closed. It possibly is just very busy at the moment.

Whatever the case, if you do an FCM and it shows as a status of "Error" -- don't cancel the transfer.

What it means is that beyond midnight on Tuesday they may close at any time, so when the clock ticks over to Wednesday, it's potentially too late. They usually close around mid afternoon on Wednesday, but there might be some reason why we do need to close it sharply at very end of Tuesday, so we don't advise waiting till Wednesday.

One more question

On the current realm i want to migrate ( Sunstrider ) theres an level 10 shaman called shalaman

Is there any possibility that if a character is under level 20 they will have to rename because somebody else wants their name? i seriosly have no humor of changing name after all the legendary stuff my name has went trought :/

I'm a horde player playing on Sunstrider. I've played there for about 1 and a half year now. Before I came to Sunstrider I played on Magtheridon. My reason for leaving this realm was that I wanted to play on a realm without major lag issues and a totally spammed trade chat, a somewhat slower and more peaceful realm I would say. Now that you've opened the free character migration from a various different high population realms, including the one I came from, the realm has started to become the very thing I wanted to get away from. The trade chat is starting to get spammed with Gearscore, attention seekers and general stupidity. It feels to me as if the realm Sunstrider once was is starting to slowly fade away and become just another of those high population realms.

I understand that your intention with the FCM is to reduce the lag on the high population realms but Sunstrider is about to become just another of those realms. Therefore I ask you to consider closing the Horde FCM to Sunstrider before intended.

We always review the free Character Moves we offer each week based on updated data. I don't want to speculate or appear to indicate any plan for the upcoming FCMs tomorrow, but with Sunstrider receiving a decent influx of new players it is quite possible another realm with a now lower population will be more suitable as a destination.

Now I have seen situation over there and I am just wondering when are you going to balance population over there? It is just impossible to achieve anything on Wintergrasp. Ally´s have all the time huge amount of Tenacity that won`t help us at all. It is impossible to see what is difference over there between horde / ally, but you can be sure it is huge. It is the same where you go over there you get. As a caster it is usual that I am locked until death.
I understand if we lose as a balanced group, then we are just not good enough on winning. I know there is free char migration also for ally, but why an earth there is also that for horde? It was even open before ally got it. It feels painfully expensive to move again all char`s away from there , so I really hope you can find solution and soon please. This is not fun.

I can see that you had what you felt was a nice safe haven realm that would never be changed, and I empathise if you feel this is being taken away now. But as we try to relieve over populated or badly faction balanced realms, it is possible that any realm could be a destination for free character moves as long as it has the space. The upside for you is that it is likely Sunstrider will not continue being a destination realm for next week.

Yes it is quite likely that Silvermoon Alliance will get FCMs in the near future (based on Alliance faction dominance); the new FCMs for tomorrow are yet to be confirmed though.

Yes and no. Genjuros is looking like a destination realm for upcoming FCMs, but unfortunately Ravencrest is not one of the matching source realms.

We plan to continue the Horde only FCM from Stormscale to Trollbane. Even with a lot of Horde moving off Stormscale last week, the realm still seems to be hitting queues and Horde still remains quite dominant.

There are no current plans to extend it. Haomarush's population has increased noticeably, and now we're wanting to work on other realms.

If anyone has any further question before we post up the new set of FCMs, please hold off and post it in the new thread (coming in a few hours) so it doesn't get lost in this soon to be closed thread.

I'm not going to do a big reply here, as this thread is closing soon and a new one will be in its place. The only thing I will say is that you can see with Vek'nilash that FCM is no longer the only thing we can do to save a realm from severe faction imbalance. But this is a very new process that requires a lot of careful monitoring and consideration before we feel comfortable to expand it. Until that time, all great ideas and suggestions aside, the only remaining option for us is still FCMs.
